Oceanside California California Condos

Oceanside California is at the northern extremity of San Diego Counties coastline.  About one hour north of  San Diego on Interstate 5 – it’s also an hour south of Orange County (read Disneyland). Oceanside boasts over 6 miles of prime recreational beaches, a marina, museums of contemporary art and surfing.  Indeed consistant world-class surfing conditions is one of the towns main attractions next to the 1,954’ city fishing pier (the nations longest).

The yacht harbor has a marina village that includes tourist shops, fine restaurants, hotels, whale and sport fishing charter operations as well as a US Coast Guard base.  Oceanside is part of the Tri-Cities Communities including inland Vista with its farmlands and horse ranches set among rolling hills and Carlsbad to the south down the Interstate 5 corridor.  Oceanside was the last of the San Diego coastal communities to be developed due to its distance from San Diego and from Orange County to the north.  Its further insulated by the Marine Corps Camp Pendleton.  This active military base consists of 20 miles of coastal beach and mountain preserve used as a training center.

Disneyland, Knottsberry Farm, Legoland, over 80 San Diego County golf courses and Mexico are within an hours driving distance of Oceanside.  One of the old Spanish Franciscans larger missions – the Mission San Luis Rey de Francia is located several miles inland.  Here one can view the well preserved mission buildings and surrounding countryside while imagining life as it was when cattle ranches and crops were tended by the Indians, and later Californios prior to California becoming a republic in 1848.

Many home and condo developments have been built in recent years in the community. Malls, new hotels, oceanfront resorts and multi-family housing projects are constantly under construction.  Condo buyers can choose from beachside neighborhoods with ocean views to inland areas with country ambience in which to live. The Wall Street Journal in 2005 named Oceanside as the best place for a beachside 2^nd home in the nation. Affordability and convenience to all of Southern California likely being among the prime factors.
